Our philosophy
We acknowledge that we educate and care for children on Whadjuk Noongar land. We pay our respects to Elders and thank them for their learning and leadership. We are knowledge and understanding seekers as we work with First Nations Knowledge Givers.
We value and practice caring and kindness and understand that without secure relationships, learning cannot take place. Respect and empathy are at the core of our relationships, our curriculum and our approach. We choose to prioritise kindness and empathy and acknowledge that these form the foundation for being, belonging and becoming.
We are proud of our longstanding links with our local community. Ours is a diverse, multilingual community with whom we celebrate our differences. We choose to commit to sharing, learning, supporting and including each other.
We actively cultivate a love for our environment here in our community. We share with the children and families that our environment is part of who we are. We grow as our children grow. We learn together that with respect and active support, our world will be healthier. We choose to embed sustainable practices working with the children to pass that knowledge on.
In our professional practice we respect that each family is the child’s first teacher. We work to develop close, respectful relationships with all families. As professional Educators we draw on research and evidence in our practice and use professional sources to underpin our thinking and our decision making. We choose to support our team, working tother to achieve our shared philosophy.
And from our children, they talked about what they want us to remember:
I feel like I am with family
I think that caring is about people
I like it when we are hand in hand
I like it that it is safe.

Our Commitment to Australia's Early Years Learning Framework
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Learning Framework, which nurtures children's interests, develops their strengths and helps them to become confident, individual learners. We have space for 47 children and keep our child-to-staff ratios low. This means your child has lots of personal attention. Being a community based and not-for-profit centre, we can focus on what is important in terms of caring for and providing for the children. All proceeds here are retained in the centre.
